Los Angeles County Museum of Art Tim Burton Exhibit

LACMA Time Burton exhibit entrance above

When I was in California I went to LACMA and saw the Tim Burton exhibit, it was amazing!

The had Edward Scissorhand's costume on display, all of the original clay mannequins from his stop motion movies, and so many of the movies he'd directed when he was a kid converted from 8mm film to digital video. Even when he was a kid he still had really creative and unusual movies.

One of my favorite things on display was his movie Vincent Price. It's about a little boy named Vincent Meloy who moves to a house and it kind of drives him crazy. He thinks he's married with a wife and kids. It's so great because the whole thing is a rhyming poem narrated by the actor Vincent Price.

I'm excited to see his movie Frankenweenie coming out in October of 2012. Did you know that Disney wasn't impressed with the original short film of Frankenweenie and they actually fired Tim Burton for it? Now Disney's paying him to make the full length film.

The exhibit was so awesome that I spent all my time in there so I'll have to go back to see the rest of the amazing museum.
